Overview
Are you our New Pre Sales Consultant with a great technical skills, excellent communication skills and general knowledge of information technology and IT infrastructures? We are SDL Tridion, Europe’s leading provider of advanced enterprise web content management software. Currently we have a job opening in our headoffice in Amsterdam.
Roles and Responsibilities
The SDL Tridion Sales team is working every day on achieving its ambitious, yet achievable goals. The SDL Tridion sales team continuously strives for expanding its market share, both through winning new customers as well as increase penetration of existing customers. This is done through creating as many reference customers as possible. The overall company objective is to become a global enterprise content management player. To accomplish this we have to be very energetic, enthusiastic, smart and professional in everything we do. The sales team consists of sales executives for direct customer interaction, partner- and alliance managers for streamlining our relationship with value added resellers and implementation partners and pre sales consultants who actively participate in sales-cycles. As a pre-sales consultant you, first of all, have to understand how we can make the work of our customers easier, simpler, faster and cheaper. Working in the SDL Tridion Sales team means doing new things in different ways, to be innovative, excellent in all you do and successful.
· Pre-sales resources:
The Pre Sales Consultant is responsible for providing technical- and consultative pre sales resources, supporting the Tridion sales and marketing activities;
· Demonstrations and presentations:
Providing full, effective and successful Tridion product demonstrations, presentations and a clear understanding of all aspects of the product- and service offering is key to this position;
· Business requirements:
An important part of the job is to understand of how we can make the work of our customers easier, simpler, faster and cheaper, to match the customers/prospect requirements with the solutions offered by Tridion, and to articulate the fit to position Tridion as the preferred choice;
· Proof of concept:
The pre-sales consultant is leading in proof of concept situations. Coordinating between the team members and execution of his own task as member of the team.
· Tenders/RFP’s:
In close cooperation with the Sales Executives, the Pre Sales Consultant will play a major role in answering Tenders, RFI/RFP proposals.
· Technology/solution champion:
Keep up with the newest developments of the technology. Have a good internal network of people and knowledge sources inside and outside Tridion. This means with product development, peers, consulting and partners. The position requires a pro-active approach toward communicating and sharing Tridion R5 knowledge and the solutions provided to our customers to both Sales Executives and customers.
· Competition:
An excellent knowledge and understanding of SDL Tridion’s competitive product advantages and in depth knowledge about our competitors on product- and company level is part of this as well.
· Teamwork:
Finally the Pre Sales Consultant is responsible for translating technical features into usable sales statements and work closely together with the departments that can provide this information (Product Management, Professional Services, Marketing, Partners).
Skills, Experience and Personality
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills involving various types of audiences, and you demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and problem solving skills. Understanding of the sales cycle and the solution selling process, preferably at an enterprise level. You are a convincing, enthusiastic and passionate speaker about business solutions, preferably in the content management arena. You have a self-starter, entrepreneurial attitude, which is able to give solid performance and is able to try out new approaches.
The technical emphasis on the required skills is on XML, HTML and basic programming in C#, .NET or Java. Some exposure to and knowledge of Internet related technologies like webservers, application servers, databases and portals is preferred.
The Pre Sales Consultant has a sound knowledge of the Enterprise software market with direct experience in the markets for enterprise software solutions A minimum of 3 years experience in either an I.T. product- or service organisation is required. The Pre Sales Consultant has the ability to learn new skills and concepts rapidly and is able to conduct business at a high level within major corporations. You are of course an enthusiastic team player who enjoys working in a fun, demanding and dynamic environment.
