R&D Manager
YOUR TEAM AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
SDL Tridion R&D is responsible for the production and maintenance of all the SDL Tridion products. The R&D team consists of two teams in Amsterdam and one team in Kiev (Ukraine). SDL Tridion R&D delivers innovative and technologically advanced products using a mix of technologies such as XML, XSL, Ajax, .NET and J2EE. The SDL Tridion products have received market recognition as best of class by established market analysts such as Forrester and Gartner. The responsibilities of the R&D manager cover people, projects and process responsibility for one of the two teams in Amsterdam. Additionally the R&D Manager should be capable to present the product to external audiences, such as customers and partners. The R&D Manager is a member of the R&D management team and reports to the VP R&D. The main responsibility areas of the R&D Manager can be summarized as:
People Management

Project Management
- Project planning and progress reporting
- Risk Analysis
- Allocation of required project resources
Processes
- Propose and implement process improvements
- Maintenance processes (incident assignment and tracking)
- Contact for SDL Tridion Customer Support (support process)
Skills, Experience and Personality
The candidate R&D Manager has an academic degree or comparable with at least 3 years experience in project management and preferably experience in a software product development environment. Furthermore he is able to manage, motivate and coach a team of software professionals. The R&D Manager is a result driven, quality focused professional, with excellent communication in English.
