The RSC is the largest organisation in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences.

Supported by a network of 45,000 members worldwide and an internationally acclaimed publishing business, its activities span education and training, conferences and science policy, and the promotion of the chemical sciences to the public.

The RSC is using a new formula for the development of its new Web site. LBI is providing the RSC with its unique Thinking2  methodology to enable the implementation of a new Content Management solution (from SDL Tridion), and a completely new information architecture for its Web site. The new site will enable hundreds of scientific information providers to manage their own content and will give the scientific community worldwide easier and faster access to information published by the RSC.

LBI’s consulting methodology has provided the RSC with a formula for not only implementing the appropriate content management solution based on real business and user requirements, but also an information architecture for managing and delivering highly complex scientific content in an exciting and compelling new Web environment.

Implementation partner

LBI helped the RSC to scope and implement a pilot project for its new Web presence based on content from one of its publications, RSC News. Content from other RSC publications will follow. David Leeming, Technical Development Manager, concluded: ‘We chose LBI as an implementation partner because of its experience in Content Management solutions, to provide technical implementation and a new information architecture. We chose SDL Tridion R5 because it provides a best fit with our existing infrastructure and has support from consultancies such as LBI for implementation.”
