Dynamic Content Broker
Dynamic Content Broker extends Presentation Server to allow you to deliver online content based on page context, queries and visitor profiles. Dynamic Content Broker allows you to create the best balance between static and dynamic Web site content.
Description
Dynamically generated content
Dynamic Content Broker uses a query mechanism to assemble Web pages based on queries. Pages can dynamically be assembled to show, for example, all vacancies in a particular region or the ten latest news articles. This ensures that Web site visitors can easily find relevant information.
Multiple publishing options
Dynamic Content Broker can serve many different forms of content including static HTML, JSP, ASP and ASP .NET pages as well as dynamic HTML, JSP, ASP, ASP .NET or XML fragments together with a XSLT.
Delivery to multiple applications
Many applications can access content published to Dynamic Content Broker. Web and application servers often access this content for specific applications or portals. Dynamic Content Broker API can be used to retrieve published content using custom built applications.
Benefits
Targeted communication
Dynamic Content Broker can provide visitors with specific information based on criteria that they select. This type of assembly allows visitors to find content they are looking for, making Web sites more accessible and easier to use. Dynamic Content Broker also allows you to provide Web sites with personalized content based on existing profile information.
Balance between static and dynamic content
For content that rarely changes and that requires quick assembly, you may prefer to publish static content. For example, content such as general corporate information, contact information and other forms of content that you do not update often may not require dynamic assembly.
Dynamic assembly provides many advantages over static presentations for content that changes frequently, content that appears on many pages, and content that you want to display based on visitor requests or actions. Dynamic content is published separately, that is, not embedded on pages, and is assembled by the Dynamic Content Broker at request time based on Page scripting.
Flexibility and open standards
Dynamic Content Broker offers both .NET and J2EE APIs that give developers access to adapt the behavior of the Web site. It makes Dynamic Content Broker a powerful platform that can be extended to fulfill the specific requirements of your organization.
